Editorial follow-up: use completed projects to improve estimates
Compare estimated and actual time by stage: discovery, production, review, revisions and administration. Record why the largest differences occurred. A changed brief is a different problem from consistently underestimating quality checks.
Use that evidence to adjust future scope or pricing assumptions. Do not retroactively describe an agreed fee as an estimate if it was presented as fixed. Better records should improve the next decision while keeping the current agreement understandable.
