Editorial follow-up: distinguish preference from acceptance
For an editing project, acceptance might require the agreed length, supplied facts preserved and consistent terminology. A later preference for a new audience changes the brief. Writing these differences down helps both parties assess feedback.
Acceptance criteria should be observable and proportionate to the task. Avoid promising an outcome outside your control, such as a specific sales total, when the deliverable is an article or a set of designs.
