Editorial follow-up: identity claims need an independent route
If a message says it comes from a platform, regulator or support team, find the organisation's contact route independently. Do not rely solely on the link or phone number inside the message being checked. The sender's chosen route cannot independently verify that same sender. Record the exact claimed organisation and account name, then keep any unresolved identity question explicit.
