Editorial follow-up: record a date without overstating certainty
A check documents what a source showed when it was consulted. Keep the date, source address and relevant identity fields together so somebody can repeat it later. Avoid wording such as verified forever. If a page cannot be accessed, say the check was incomplete. A failed lookup by itself does not prove misconduct, especially when names or entities are unclear.
