Editorial follow-up: use exact addresses in private notes
Two websites can use similar branding while having different domain names. Record the exact address being checked, including the ending, and compare it with the authority's information. A screenshot that crops out the address bar removes useful context. When discussing a suspicious site publicly, describe the mismatch without publishing an active referral or encouraging other readers to submit personal information.
