Define a small comparison task and a maximum evaluation budget. Record setup time, learning time, review time and the checks needed to accept the output. If a trial is available, read its renewal conditions before starting it. The useful outcome is evidence about your particular workflow, including limitations; a feature list alone cannot establish whether the recurring cost makes sense.
