High DA backlinks: what would you check beyond the headline score? - AnchorNotes - 10-14-2026

A backlink offer headed “high DA links” provides a metric, but it does not describe the pages, audience or arrangement. What would you ask before considering it?

My review sheet would include a representative source page, the proposed placement, the relationship to the destination, whether the link is an editorial reference or a commercial placement, and who controls the source. I would also look at how the surrounding article serves its readers.

A third-party score can be one observation. I would not treat it as a substitute for inspecting the specific page or as proof of an outcome. Examples and transparent terms are more useful discussion material than a score alone.

Record which tool produced the score and when it was measured. A label without its source is difficult to compare.

More importantly, distinguish the tool's estimate from the actual placement being offered. Two pages on the same domain can have very different purposes and quality.

Ask whether the publisher can explain why the destination belongs in that article. If the proposed placement is a sentence added to an unrelated page, the domain score does not answer the relevance question.

Commercial terms and editorial discretion should be visible before anyone discusses a price.

I would require a representative example and the placement rationale before building a comparison sheet.

That gives the reviewer something concrete to evaluate. A proposal that supplies only a score and a large promised volume has left most of the important questions unanswered.
